All patients shown have had their breast augmented or enlarged by placing and implant. I have chosen these patients to demonstrate how implants appear in different body shapes, varying heights and weights, and varying degrees of  body fat content and breast tissue present prior to surgery.

Five main differences in technique are typically demonstrated:

1.  Incision Placement

• Transaxillary-through an incision in the axilla (armpit)
• Periareolar-through an incision around the bottom portion of the areola
• Inframammary-through an incision in the crease or fold below the breast

2.  Implant Position

Subpectoral (Under the Pectoral Muscle)

Subglandular (Under the Breast Tissue)

3.  Implant size in cubic centimeters (cc’s)

4.  Implant Type

• Saline
• Silicone Gel
  

5.  Implant Profile

• Moderate (largest base and lowest profile)
• Moderate Plus (Mid Range base and mid range profile)
• High (smallest base and highest profile)
